Hey, I’m Sarah.
I’m a musician, writer, event host, wardrobe stylist, and music teacher.
But my preferred titles are mom, partner to a touring artist, daughter, sister, friend, advocate, artist guardian.
Music has been a tether through my life since I started lessons when I was four. It wasn’t a casual “Oh hey, I’ll sign my kid up for piano lessons for better grades” circumstance. Instead, our family was going through a crisis and my mom had the vision that music lessons might create some positivity. Her vision had a longer reach than any of us anticipated.
As my three younger siblings established their musical voices, we turned the collective creativity into a family band and toured for 10 years in a 70’s Prevost bus, heading out for 6 weeks at a time from our home base in East Texas.
When the opportunity to teach music emerged, I was 12. Yeah, I was a kid and it was a unique challenge but I said yes, and it expanded into a music school that provided instruction for hundreds of kids and adults in its 15 years. My simultaneous touring experiences and life on the road fueled my vision to provide artist development and care to my students who began pursuing music professionally. As I learned through real-life events, it gave me immediate tools to pass on to others.
